Norwest Soccer is a small, community soccer club based at Francesco Oval in Bella Vista.
Competition teams are available as follows:
*11 - 14 years, mixed competition, boys and girls
*15 - 18 years, boy's competition
*18+, all-age men's competition
The main features of the competition are:
*Held each Saturday
*Travel is required as the matches are played against other clubs (Rouse Hill, Kellyville, east to North Rocks/Dundas and south to Granville)
*Parents and players are required to assist with field set-up and take-down and to assist when requested.
Games may also be played on Sundays, weeknights, long weekends or during school holidays if required to catch up rounds due to adverse weather.
The competition commences early April and runs for 18 weeks, weather permitting, before a final's series of 3 weeks. Games are played on Saturdays with Juniors in the morning and Seniors (AA) in the afternoon.
All teams play in the Granville and Districts Soccer Football Association Incorporated competition.
The main features of OSSF are:
* Held each Saturday
* Travel is required as the matches are played against other clubs
* Games are generally 2 x 20 minute halves with a 5 minute break
* Field and team sizes are smaller than junior competition to allow players greater contact with the ball
* Parent encouragement is desired
Junior and Senior Competition. Younger children will also be accepted if they prefer inter-club competition.
For children aged between 8 and 10 years (by 31 Dec 2012), we offer the Optus Small Sided Football (OSSF) format. Sessions are not run during the school holidays.
Main Features of Funskills:
* Held each Friday night at Francesco oval
* Skills practice and matchplay
* Teams are organised by age and size
* Field and team sizes are based on the small-sided games program to allow players greater contact with the ball
* Emphasis on fun and participation
* Parent involvement is required - coaching, organising teams, set-up & pack-away, bbq etc
*The 2012 Season will commence Friday, 27 April, and runs for 12 weeks, weather permitting.
For our youngest players we offer a Funskills program that teaches soccer skills and match play in a non-competitive environment. We wish to promote a family-friendly environment, with a sense of community pride. We value good sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork. (more).
